The 7 Chakras

There are 7 chakras, each with a different meaning and emotion, they each serve a particular purpose and when they are working in harmony, like the turning of a wheel then our lives flow in a positive direction.
When they are blocked then we find we come across obstacle's that are hard to over come and we are overcome by the negative emotion associated with the blocked chakra. Reiki helps to unblock these chakras by identifying the cause and releasing it.



1st Chakra = Root
Colour = Red
Sense = Smell
Emotion = Survival, Primal instinct
Element = Earth
Function - Survival / grounding
Glands - Adrenals
This is the basis which all other chakra's follow, if this is not in balance, other chakra's will also be off balance or blocked. Its the most primal of them all, our basic instinct for survival lives here and is our foundation for everything else.
Blocked = Physical - Constipation, Hemorrhoids, Prostate disease
Physiological - Selfishness, feelings of danger, depression, security


2nd chakra = Sacral
Colour = Orange
Sense = Taste
Emotion = self acceptance
Element = Water
Function - Desire, pleasure, sexuality, procreation
Glands - Ovaries, testicles
Blocked = Physical - Kidney, bladder, reproduction system
Physiological - Insecurity, worries, fears, quilt, money

3rd Chakra = Solar Plexus -
Colour = Yellow
Sense = Sight
Emotion = self-will
Element = Fire
Function - Will / Power
Glands - Pancreas, adrenals
Blocked = Physical - Ulcers, gallstones, diabetes, indigestion, liver dysfunction, hepatitis.
Physiological -Trust, fear, self esteem, self confidence. personal power, nervousness.

4th Chakra = Heart
Colour = Green/Pink
Sense = Touch
Emotion = Compassion, Love
Element = Air
Function - Unconditional Love
Glands - Thymus
Blocked = Physical - Heart attack, asthma/allergy, lung cancer, high blood pressure
Physiological - hatred, resentment, bitterness, anger, grief, commitment

5th Chakra = Throat
Colour = light blue
Sense = Hearing
Emotion = Self expression
Element = Sound
Function - Communication / creativity
Glands - Thyroid, parathyroid
Blocked = Physical - Sore throat, ulcers, colds, voice, swollen glands
Physiological - Choice, strength of will, truth, living and speaking ones truth, creativity, decision making.

6th Chakra - Third eye
Colour = Purple
Sense = Sight
Emotion =Intuition
Element = Light
Function - Seeing / intuiting
Glands - Pineal
Blocked = Physical = Headaches, brain tumour, stroke, learning disabilities, seizures
Physiological =Self evaluation, poor concentration, poor will

7th Chakra - Crown
Colour = White -
Sense = Beyond sensory
Emotion = Divinity, Peace
Element = Thought
Function - God connection
Glands - Pituitary
Blocked - Physical = Energetic disorders, apathy, alienation, high blood pressure
Physiological = Depression, ability to trust life, values, ethics and courage, spirituality.
